Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary is an animal rescue organization for exotic birds. This spec ad campaign promoted awareness of their services and generated donations. The various media expanded the reach of the campaign to a larger market. In collaboration with Aline Monjardim, graphic designer.

A large-scale ad intended for the side of a semi-trailer, it is an example of very high impact with very little copy. Two lines convey the Greyhaven’s niche and how completely exotic birds rely on donors. The eye-catching illustration and copy were carefully considered as a whole.

The banner ad embodies a strong emotional appeal in both illustration and headline. Comparing exotic birds to young children prompts feelings of sympathy and protectiveness. Minimal copy is especially easy to read in short phrases.

This ad highlights the very narrow scope of Greyhaven’s work. The target market for this piece is professionals who commute to work. The copy uses plain language and facts to appeal to this demographic.

A relatable pain point in the headline (i.e. chaos is stressful) engages the reader’s interest. A captive audience—riding the bus—allows for more detail in the body copy. Specifics of exotic bird care encourage a sympathetic view of Greyhaven. The expression of gratitude predisposes the reader towards donating.

Playing off the illustration, the copy for this poster focuses on the specialized care that exotic birds need. The copy encourages donations by hinting that people created this problem. This gives the reader a feeling of ownership over the problem, and a desire to be part of the solution.

A decal ad for Greyhaven’s vehicles. The ad copy for the decal is easy to read and specific to the format. The headline expresses a clear message for when the vehicle is moving and only the headline can be read. The body text adds compelling details for a viewer who sees the vehicle stopped.
